李夜冰,又名李世任,斋号听雨轩、野林小斋,1931年生于山西省平定县石门村(现为河北省井陉县石门村)。画家、高级工艺美术师。曾任太原市工艺美术研究所所长,现任山西国际文化交流画院院长、中国美术家协会会员、中国工艺美术学会会员、山西省文史研究馆馆员、山西国际文化交流中心理事、南京颜真卿书画院顾问、曼谷中国画院艺术顾问。
从事美術创作50余年,对油画、版画、年画、工艺美术等各艺术领域都进行过深入的研究和实践,为后来专攻中国画并形成自己兼容并蓄、清新厚重的艺术风格,莫定了坚实的基础。作品多次在全国及英国、美国、日本、新加坡、澳大利亚等地展出及收藏,并多次获奖。主要作品有:《天涯咫尺》(漆画)现陈列英国纽卡尔议会厅,《胜景银装》(中国画)参加《全国首届中国山水画展览》,展出后被国务院收藏。
出版画集有《山南海北》、《李夜冰素描集》(山西人民出版社出版)、《古陶情思》(北岳文艺出版社出版)、宋富盛主编《当代中国画家系列画册 李夜冰画集》(山西人民出版社刊),主编《传统工艺美术资料》(北京市工艺美术总公司画册编辑部出版刊)。
1986年出访英国举办展览,1989年率领太原市艺术家代表团访问日本并进行绘画艺术交流,1992年在香港举办个人画展,1995年在新加坡举办个人画展、1999年在澳门举办个人画,另外1997年1月在北京中国美术馆负责举办《中国古巴部分画家作品展览》等,尽力中外美术交流活动。
他的传略先后被载入《中国当代美术家人名录》、《中国现代美术人名大辞典》、《当代书画篆刻家辞典》、《中国美术家》、《中国当代艺术界名人录》、《世界現代美术家辞典》、《世界名人录》等大型辞书。
Li Yebing (alternative name Li Sheiren). painter and master of arts and crafts, whose painting studio is named Tingyuxuan and Yelinxiaozhai (Hearing Rain Studio and Little studio of Wild Forest), was born in Shimen Village of Pinding County, Shanxi Province (Shimen Village of Jingxing Country, Hebei Province now). He is the former president of Taiyuan Arts and Crafts Institute. Now he is the president of Shanxi international Culture Exchange Art Academy, senior painter and master of arts and crafts, as well as a member of the Union of Chinise Artists, the Institute of Chinese Arts and Crafts, and the Shanxi Provincial Culture and History Research Institute. In addition, he is the director of Shanxi International Cultural Exchange Center and advisor of both the Nanjing Yan Zhenqing Art and Calligraphy Institute and the Bangkok China Art Academy.
Having engaged in art creation for more than 50 years, he has studied intensively and practised various medium of arts and crafts such as oil painting, engrav-ing, New Year's picture and industrial arts. All these helped him lay a solid foundation for his specialization in traditional Chinese painting and formation for his unique art style - a fresh and profound confluence of subject of diverse nature. His works have been on display many times in national exhibitions and abroad U.K, the United States, Japan, Singapore, and australia. Some have been collected and some awarded prizes. "Poles Apart like a Nearby Neighbour" (lacquer painting) is now displayed in the Newcastle Parliament Hall, U.K "Silver Snow Decorated Scenic Spot" (traditional Chinese painting) was collected by the State Council after being on display in the First National Landscape Exhibition.
Collections of his paintings are published as "South of the Mountain and North of the Sea" and "A Collection of Li yebing's Sketches" (Shanxi People's Publishing House), "Sentiment of Gutao" (Beiyue Artistic Publishing House), "A Collection of Li Yebing's Paintings" (Shanxi People's Publishing House), "Information on Traditional Arts and Crafts" (Beijing Arts and Crafts Publishing House) was chiefty edited by him.
In 1986, he visited England and held an exhibition there. In 1989, he led Taiyuan Artists delegation to visit Japan. In 1992, an individual exhibition was held in Hong Kong. In 1995, another individual exhibition was held in Singapore. In 1999, another individual exhibition was held in Macao. In January, 1997, He as involeved in the sponsorship of the Exhibition of Partial Chinese and Cuban Artists' Works.

美術創作に携わること五十余年、油絵、版画、年画、工芸美術など、様々な芸術分野において深い研究・創作活動を行ったのちに中国画の世界へ。堅実な努力と飽くなき探求によって、中国画壇において斬新かつ重厚な独特の画風を築いた。これまで、作品の多くが中国全土はもとより、英国、米国、日本、シンガポール、オーストラリアなどで展示・収蔵され、多くの賞を受賞し、世界各国で高い評価を得ている。主要な作品には、英国ニューカッスル議事堂に陳列されている漆画「天涯咫尺」や、全国第一回中国山水画展覧会出品後、国務院に収蔵された中国画「勝景銀装」などがある。
これまで、『山南海北』（山西人民出版社、1987年）、『李夜冰素描集』（同、1993年）、『古陶情思』（北岳文芸出版社、1999年）、宋富盛主編『李夜冰画集―当代中国画家系列画冊』（山西人民出版社、1999年）の画集を発刊し、編著に『伝統工芸美術資料』（北京市工芸美術総公司画冊編纂部、1982年）がある。
1986年、英国の展示会からの招聘・出品を皮切りに、1989年には太原市芸術代表団の長として日本を訪問し、美術方面での文化交流活動を展開、1992年には香港で、1995年にはシンガポール、1999年にはマカオで個展を開催した。また、1997年に北京中国美術館で開催された「中国・キューバ部分画家作品展覧会」でも開催責任者の一員として活躍するなど、諸外国との交流活動に尽力している。
